Couch Potato's Guide September 4-10.

10. Illinois at Arizona State Saturday 10:30 ESPN- Where in the world is Carmen San Diego, I mean Todd Graham. The biggest scumbag in the game today is coaching and if you missed his shenanigans, well you get a chance to see them again. I'm sure ESPN will feed into his signage and High Octane crap hanging all over the ASU program. Aside from Fraud Graham, it might be a halfway entertaining game. 10:30 starts in football should take you into last call at the bar. That is always a plus.

9. Pitt at Cincinnati Thursday 7:30 ESPN- I do not even know where to begin with my Panthers. I thought losing to Bowling Green on opening day was the worst possible start, and I have been corrected by the Penguins of Youngstown State.  This is the only game on Thursday night, so you have to watch it....You at least have to watch some of it, when it gets ugly, only then you have my permission to die. Bane  actually gave this speech after he and the Youngstown State Penguins blew up Heinz Field. Last time Pitt will invite them back.

8. Penn State at Virginia Saturday 12:00 ABC-At least one Pennsylvania team is holding things together....Temple! PSU will go for their first win since 1997. The nation's longest losing streak could come to an end Saturday.  Virginia has been better under coach Mike London. They are not a joke anymore, and they could have their way with the Lions. It should be a good game, and UVA is an awesome campus. I think it is the best noon game Saturday anyway.

7. Cowboys at Ginats Wednesday 8:30 NBC-The NFL clearly did not want to compete with the Pitt-Cincinnati audience on Thursday so they moved the season opener to a Wednesday. Well played Mr. Goodell, well played. The NFC East is the most annoying division in all of sports. ESPN thinks the whole league revolves around Dallas, Philadelphia and the Giants. It could not be farther from the truth, but still the games must be played. The Cowboys are a bad football team. The Giants are a good football team. The NFL is back, just watch it.

6. Dodgers at Giants Sunday 8:00 ESPN-Baseball is still being played, in case you forgot. The Dodgers have done everything in their power to win the National League West. They even acquired Josh Beckett! Gutsy move. They still have had trouble with the Giants. The Giants have like four guys in their lineup that nobody knows who they are, but they still have the lead. I guess money can't always buy happiness. IF the Dodgers fail to make the playoffs, they will look like the biggest fools in some time.  Where is Magic Johnson getting all this dough?

5. Washington at LSU Saturday 7:00 ESPN-Night game in Death Valley. This is one the true best venues for college football. LSU has one the premier home field advantages in the game, and that alone should be worth tuning in. Washington is a fringe top 25 team, and LSU is a championship contender. Washington could make this game interesting, or LSU could embarrass them. Either way, you should catch your first look at a potential national championship team.

4. Steelers at Broncos Sunday 8:20 NBC- This is just another monster match-up in the first week of the NFL season. The Steelers will be missing some familiar faces, but still have that core that could win the AFC. Denver got Tebow-ed out. They let the golden boy walk, and got a real quarterback. Yes,they went to the playoffs, but they were never going to do more than that as long as Tebow was around. The Broncos have now made themselves one of the best teams in the league with Peyton, and his forehead.

3. Georgia at Missouri Saturday 7:45 ESPN2-This is the best college game of the week, so yeah slow week. Missouri will be playing their very first SEC conference game. It will be a crazy good atmosphere and it will be a wild scene. Mizzou does not have their best team, but they are respectable. Georgia is pretty good, and they have a legit Heisman candidate with Aaron Murray. Its good college football, not great.

2. 49ers at Packers Sunday 4:25 FOX- NFL Sunday. Time to cure that hangover and really be a couch potato. The NFL has some great games in the first week, but this is a full fledged NFC Championship preview in my eyes. The Niners finally put together a good season last year and seem ready to be a Super Bowl team. The cheese heads have Aaron Rodgers and should pretty good about that. It is a good warm up for the Steelers game. No need to sell it further.

1. Bengals at Ravens Monday 7:00 ESPN-Are you ready for some Football? Hank Williams Jr. sure isn't, but I am. I like the double header on Monday Night Football to start the season, they should look into it for the whole season. The Bengals and Ravens play in the best division in football and this will be a grudge match. If you are a Steeler fan, you should have an interest. If you are American, you should have an interest. I think it is treason to not like Monday Night Football. And if isn't, it should be.
