Titus Howard, Welcome Aboard!

Pitt secured its 8th commitment for the 2013 Football recruiting class as Clairton Defensive Back, Titus Howard pledged to the Panthers Sunday afternoon.  He is the second defensive commitment for Coach Paul Chryst, and the forth WPIAL player in the class. Howard holds offers from Connecticut,Arkansas State, and Toledo.  His offers should not be too concerning as his 6-2 frame and athletic ability warrant his Pitt offer.  He is rated as a 3 star prospect by Scout and 2 star by Rivals.
Howard comes from the Class A powerhouse Clairton High School.  Trenton Coles and Kevin Weatherspoon are former Clairton Bears themselves, as Pitt is starting a nice pipeline.  Clairton looks poised to make another State Championship run, and Howard will likely be a driving force. Howard could also be the key for Pitt landing Clairton star player, Tyler Boyd. Boyd is one of Pitt's primary targets for the class of 2013 and could be the key to Paul Chryst opening up a big WPIAL pipeline.  Pitt's recruiting is picking up nicely as of late. They may not be landing four and five star prospects, but they are adding quality players that can make an impact. Pitt still is very much in the race for guys like Robert Foster,Dorian Johnson, and Tyler Boyd.  The 2013 recruiting class can be a very good one.

**Update** Dorian Johnson has just picked Penn State, obviously not ideal for Paul Chryst, but not the end of the world.
