College Football 20 BOLD Predictions.

1. A major program will go up in flames before the end of the season-USC, North Carolina, Ohio State and Miami have not really had good publicity lately.  Whether it be from paying players, contacts with agents, selling memorabilia ect....The NCAA has been looking pretty bad of late, and it is only a matter of time which program will join the aforementioned ones. And I say it will happen before a National Champion is crowned.

2. Boise State will go undefeated and play in a BCS game- Not sure how bold a prediction this can be, Boise State rarely loses as it is.  The Broncos came up just short last year, and a few missed field goals against Nevada cost them a trip to a BCS Bowl.  Kellen Moore will have this team loaded up for another big run, and the move to the Mountain West should not play a big factor. To be really bold, maybe you will see them in the National Championship game....

3. The Big 12 will start to crumble further-In a year's time, the Big 12, lost Nebraska to the Big Ten and Colorado to the Pac 12. Now Texas A&M is all but in the SEC now.And than there was Nine.  Texas may ultimately go Independent.  The SEC, Big East, and Pac 12 will ravage the league to nothing.

4. Florida State is back, and will be for a long time- Penn State take notes, a legendary coach steps down and the program has only gone up.  Jimbo Fisher is recruiting like a mad man, and he returns 17 starters for this year.  The 'Noles should win the ACC, and if they can pull off a win over Oklahoma, maybe a run at a National Championship can happen.

5. Nebraska will win the Big 10- The Huskers join the Big Ten, and they tend to fit in better here.  The running game and the powerful defense will fit right in.  Taylor Martinez is the league's most dynamic player, and Jarred Crick may be the league's best defensive player.  The road will be tough, but Nebraska is accustomed to playing in big venues.

6. Texas A&M will be overrated-The Aggies have gotten a lot of publicity this offseason and some think they can win the Big 12. But they were exposed terribly in the Bowl game against LSU last season, and Ryan Tannehill only started half the season at QB.  A lot of questions surround this team.  They start the year against SMU, which could be a very big trap game for A&M.

7. Arizona State will win the Pac-12 South- Not a lot is being said about the Sun Devils, but they have talent and a lot returning.  Brock Osweiler is a good Quarterback, and he has plenty of weapons around. They get USC and rival Arizona at home.  Expect big things from the Sun Devils.

8. Notre Dame will win 10 games-Brian Kelly is a really good coach, and he gets results.  The Notre Dame schedule is always tough, but this one does not seem to be overly tough.  The Irish have 16 returning starters, and some very good depth.  If Dayne Crist takes off how he should, ND will be fine.  A trip to Stanford to finish the year will be difficult.  But every other game is winnable.

9. A Running Back will win the Heisman-In the past ten years, a Quarterback has won the Trophy 8 times.  Only Reggie Bush(His trophy is now vacated) and Mark Ingram were able to stop the QB trend.  But I think this year, a Running Back may steal the show. Whether it be LaMichael James of Oregon, Trent Richardson of Alabama, or Marcus Lattimore of South Carolina, I think the Heisman winner will be one of these three.

10. Oklahoma-Oklahoma State will be the game of the year-Bedlam.  That is what the game is called, and thats what the game will be.  Last year Oklahoma survived a shootout 47-41.  With most of the stars on both sides returning, the game should have the same type of fire power. The Big 12 no longer has a championship game, so this will serve as the De facto Big 12 Championship in 2011.

11. Ohio State will lose 4 games-The Buckeyes have only lost four game twice since the year 2000.  They have been a model of consistency, and usually have one of the premier teams in college football, but Tressel is gone and so is Terrelle Pryor. Other players will serve the five game suspensions.  Trips to Miami, Nebraska and Michigan will be difficult, but home dates with Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Penn State are no easy task either.  It is going to be a dismal season in Columbus.

12. Matt Barkley will emerge as the NFL's top Quarterback prospect- Andrew Luck has been widely been considered the top prospect for this class, but Matt Barkley has not been far behind.  Luck may take some hits without Harbaugh.  Luck will still easily be a top 5 pick, but a big season by Matt Barkley will push himself into top spot consideration.

13. Michigan will turn the corner- Michigan has only won 15 games over the past three seasons.  Easily one of the worst three year runs in school history. Rich Rodriguez is out the door, and "Michigan man" , Brady Hoke is in.  Denard Robinson is back and will be one of the most dangerous players in the nation again.  They have the offensive talent to win, but it was the defense that forced Rich Rod out.  Hoke should help sure things up.

14. Texas will remain average-Coach Mack Brown tried to revamp the coaching staff, but the team is still young and not quite ready to make an impact in league play.  The Big 12 is tough, and definitely not the place for a rebuilding team to rebuild. Garrett Gilbert struggled mightily last year, and needs to make big improvements for Texas to contend this year.

15. Case Keenum will be invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony- Houston had a disappointing season last year, and a lot of it had to do with Keenum getting hurt.   He has been granted a sixth year of eligibility and he will make the most of it. He is a three year starter, and has thrown for over 12,000 yards in his career along with 102 Touchdowns.  I think it would be safe to say Houston will be significantly better, and Keenum will be over 40 Touchdown passes again in 2011.

16. The National Champion will not be out of the SEC- The past five champions have been SEC teams, and I believe that trend will end.  Stanford and Oregon look solid out of the Pac 12, and the Big 12 boasts Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.   Maybe a Big Ten team will emerge, or a wild card like Boise State or Florida State.  But it will not be an SEC team.

17.  Georgia will win the SEC East- Florida has owned this division, and South Carolina is the defending champion with a lot of talent, but the Dawgs will be playing for the SEC Championship.  Aaron Murray is a promising young Quarterback, and Isaiah Crowell will have a big time impact at Running Back.

18. SMU will be on the rise- From death penalty to being relevant again, the Mustangs are here.  June Jones and the fan base have been committed to the program and it shows.  They have tough non conference battles at Texas A&M and TCU, but things are certainly on the rise. SMU may be a BCS buster team in the next five years.

19. Army will be in a bowl game again- The Cadets showed promise for the first time in years last season. They made a Bowl game for the first time since 1996, and beat SMU.  They have some talent and key pieces returning.  The schedule seems right for 6-7 wins, and maybe they can knock off their arch rivals this season, something they have not done since 2001.

20. Paterno will retire after the season- This is almost getting comical, but the guy has the record. He is one of the best the game has ever seen.  But he has been getting run into on sidelines, his day to day responsibilities are all but gone. He should go out on his own terms, unlike Bobby Bowden, who was more less forced out.
